Nine Ventura County residents will be among those honored by a Latino advocacy group tonight for contributions and service to the community.

El Concilio del Condado de Ventura will honor the individuals and two community groups at its awards banquet at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center.

Honorees include Patti Caputo and Gloria Lopez Gonzales, counselors for victims of domestic violence; the musical group Conjunto Macuilxochitl de los Hermanos Herrera, which often performs at fundraisers; and Dick Jaquez, an educator and coach for the Oxnard Union High School District.
