LOS ANGELES

About 100 members of a South Los Angeles church gathered Saturday for a rally and march opposing gay marriage.

Waving signs bearing biblical quotes and denouncing homosexuality as a sin, participants marched for about a mile down Vermont Avenue from Century Boulevard to Imperial Highway.

The event, organized by the 250-member Southside Christian Palace, came the day after the state Supreme Court declined to halt same-sex marriages being performed in San Francisco. Lawsuits over the issue are scheduled to be heard March 29 in San Francisco Superior Court.
