Aliso Viejo Man Dies in Shooting
A 19-year-old man died after being shot in an apparent gang fight in Laguna Hills involving about a dozen people, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported Saturday.
Edward Rendon III of Aliso Viejo was shot once in the chest and died during surgery at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, the department reported.
Deputies responded to several calls late Friday reporting a fight and gunshots near an apartment complex in the 25200 block of Stockport Street.
The officers found blood stains and a knife in front of the complex, but nothing else. Deputies then checked hospitals and found Rendon.
Witnesses reported seeing as many as 12 people with baseball bats and knives, deputies said. Witnesses heard at least two gunshots. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call deputies at (714) 628-7170.
