Girl, 17, Stabbed to Death in Anaheim Alley Fight

A 17-year-old girl was stabbed to death and a 19-year-old woman was treated for injuries after a confrontation with several other females in an alley behind an apartment complex in Anaheim, police said Saturday.

The dead girl, whose name was withheld, was stabbed about 10:20 p.m. Friday while in an alley in the 1800 block of West Glencrest Street, said Sgt. Rick Martinez.

Although street gangs have been active in the area, police initially were not labeling the slaying as gang-related pending further investigation.

Police said that the suspects were also females.

The fatally injured girl was taken to Anaheim Memorial Hospital, which notified police that a stabbing victim had been brought into the emergency room. She died about 1 a.m. Saturday, Martinez said.

The 19-year-old was also treated for injuries and released from the hospital. Her name is being withheld because of concerns for her safety, police said.
