Man Injured in Jump From Freeway Overpass

A man jumped from the Wilshire Boulevard overpass onto the southbound Harbor Freeway on Monday evening, critically injuring himself, authorities said.
Alerted by police about a possible jumper, the California Highway Patrol closed all southbound lanes. The man fell onto the empty freeway just as CHP officers arrived, Officer Brian Joy said.
Traffic was halted for about 15 minutes.
