2nd Suspect in Shootout With Police Arrested
Police have arrested a second suspect in last week’s fatal shootout with officers.
Ronald Schlagel, 50, was taken into custody Saturday along with two others as they left a hotel in Manhattan Beach. Police had been looking for Schlagel since Wednesday, when someone opened fire on Redondo Beach police officers responding to a call about suspicious activity in a residential neighborhood.
The man believed to have fired the shots, Matthew Bickel, 26, later died in another round of shooting with officers after a daylong manhunt.
