Jameer Nelson was perfect from the field -- making all six attempts for 19 points -- and so is No. 3 Saint Joseph’s after a 114-63 rout of St. Bonaventure on Saturday night at Olean, N.Y.

The victory gave the Hawks, 17-0 and 7-0 in the Atlantic 10, a school record with their 17th consecutive victory. Saint Joseph’s won 16 in a row from Jan. 7-March 8, 1965.

Nelson scored all of his points in the first half and didn’t attempt a shot in the second half. He was taken out with 12:08 left and the Hawks leading, 79-40.

The Bonnies (6-10, 2-3) were unable to feed off a boisterous crowd of about 6,000, the first sellout this season at the Reilly Center. They made only one of their first 18 shots and never recovered.

Marques Green, the conference’s leading scorer -- and fifth in the nation -- missed his first seven shots before making a three-point basket with 4:30 left in the first half. Green, averaging 24.2 points, had 12 points on three-of-12 shooting.

As the Bonnies struggled, the Hawks went to their strength -- the perimeter game. Led by Nelson’s four three-point baskets, they made 17 of 26 three-point shots, including 12 of 18 in the first half when they took a 62-27 lead.
