Free-agent guard Brent Barry has reached an agreement to join the San Antonio Spurs, leaving the Seattle SuperSonics so he can play alongside Tim Duncan and improve his chances of winning an NBA title.

“Brent called and informed us that if everything goes according to plan, he expects to sign with San Antonio,” SuperSonic General Manager Rick Sund said Saturday. “If that’s the case, we certainly wish him well.”

The four-year deal is believed to be worth between $22 million and $24 million.

Sund refused to confirm details of his team’s offer to Barry.

Teams cannot discuss agreements until Tuesday night, when free agents can begin signing with teams and the salary cap is set for next season.

The Indiana Pacers are negotiating a trade that would send forward Al Harrington to Atlanta for Stephen Jackson, according to reports.

The Indianapolis Star and ESPN.com reported that the 26-year-old Jackson would sign a six-year contract worth $44 million with Atlanta and then be traded for Harrington.

Forward Kenyon Martin, the New Jersey Nets’ free agent, was expected to leave Atlanta with a six-year maximum contract offer -- as much as $85 million.

Martin, however, is a restricted free agent, which means if he signs the Hawks’ offer sheet, New Jersey can take 15 days to decide whether to match it.
