Power Knocked Out After Utility Pole Struck
Traffic was bottled up in Little Saigon on Saturday after a driver struck a utility pole, which fell across Magnolia Street, police said.
Ramil Hook, 34, was driving a 1999 Chevy Tahoe along Magnolia about 2:15 a.m. when he hit the pole, police said.
Hook, whose hometown was not disclosed, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Several power transformers were knocked down, interrupting power for a short while, police said.
Magnolia was closed to traffic between Hazard and Bolsa avenues, authorities said.
It was scheduled to reopen at 10 Saturday night.
