Anaheim police have identified the car they believe was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed two people last week.

It is a gold four-door 1997 Pontiac Grand Am with a California license plate number of 5EDM377, said Sgt. Rick Martinez, a spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department.

He said the right-side doors and right-rear wheel-well area would probably be damaged.

The Pontiac turned left in front of a car in the 3100 block of West Ball Road about 9 p.m. July 15, triggering a chain reaction that left a 22-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl dead and three other people seriously injured, Martinez said. The driver of the Grand Am left the scene before police arrived, Martinez said.
