2 Children Hurt When Mother Hits Power Pole

Two young children were seriously hurt when their mother, distracted by a cellphone, drove into a power pole, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Carson woman was driving south on Alameda Street early Sunday morning when her car struck the pole, CHP officers said. She was uninjured, but her 10-month-old daughter and 6-year-old son were hospitalized.
