From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Contra Costa County sheriff’s officials are looking for a man who allegedly shot a deputy in the arm during a traffic stop.
Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said the deputy stopped a car driven by Eddie Sanchez, 19, of Pittsburg on Wednesday night. Sanchez pulled out a pistol and began shooting, Lee said.
The suspect drove a short distance, got out of the car and ran, Lee said.
The unidentified deputy’s wound is not life-threatening, Lee said.
