Coast Guard Ship Seizes 14 1/2 Tons of Cocaine

SAN DIEGO
The U.S. Coast Guard said Tuesday that it had seized more than 14 1/2 tons of cocaine from fishing boats off the coasts of Mexico and Ecuador, the most found by one of its cutters during a single patrol.
Twenty-four people were arrested in three separate seizures during the Midgett’s two-month patrol.
