Re “O.C. Police Shoot 2 Men to Death After Armed Confrontations,” May 12: With so much violence in the world these days, is it so shocking to see that two young men were slain by the protectors of our society?
Yes! I, for one, find it appalling that the police force of Fountain Valley finds it acceptable to use deadly force against a 23-year-old man wielding a knife. I certainly hope that those two officers receive the punishment they deserve. How can we explain to the family and friends of this young man that it was acceptable to terminate his life out of fear of a 3 1/2-inch blade?
