Mountain lion sightings -- A news brief Tuesday in the California section about mountain lion sightings in Solano County gave the weight of a lion recently killed in Palo Alto as 110 pounds. The May 18 article that first reported that killing said the lion weighed 150 pounds. The Palo Alto Police Department, which provided the figures, says both were estimates by individual officers, and the exact weight of the animal is not known.

Department of Fish and Game biologist Patrick Foy said the region and nearby foothills are a natural habitat for California mountain lions.
