‘Kisses Seeks a Turnaround

Trainer Marty Jones is hoping equipment and scenery changes will help Alphabet Kisses get back on track.

The 3-year-old Alphabet Soup filly, who has lost three in a row, adds blinkers and returns to Hollywood Park, a place where she has won both of her main track starts.

Owned and bred by Harris Farms Inc., Alphabet Kisses will break from the rail under new jockey Kent Desormeaux in today’s fifth, a $40,000 allowance at six furlongs.

Eight other fillies are entered, including 3-1 morning-line favorite Resplendency and 7-2 second choice Delizia.

Race of the day: Cupid’s Arrow, who has finished 1-2-3 in all four of her races on turf, will make her debut for trainer Lisa Lewis in today’s $60,000 Soaring Softly Stakes at Aqueduct.

One for the road: Seeking The Ante shouldn’t miss in her third career start for trainer John Kimmel in today’s fourth at Aqueduct. Edgar Prado will ride the 2-year-old Seeking The Gold filly in the $42,000 maiden affair at a mile for New York-breds. She looks like a single to begin the pick six.

Exotically speaking: A pick four using Resplendency, Delizia and Alphabet Kisses in the fifth, Straightandstrong and Danzing Commander in the sixth, Dee Dee’s Diner and Haleakala Sunrise in the seventh and Court Seeker in the eighth.
