An Iranian man who forced the evacuation of Union Station after allegedly telling a security guard that he had a bomb in his duffel bag was booked Saturday on suspicion of making a false bomb threat, police said.
Behnam Heidari Hesari, 26, was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. Friday after telling a guard that a friend was going to detonate the explosive via a cellular phone, police said.
Only clothing and videotapes were found in Hesari’s bag. However, the station at 800 N. Alameda St. was evacuated until about 2 a.m. Saturday.
