Roi Charmant, who has finished in the money in five of his seven starts, will make his first appearance since Jan. 31 -- and first for trainer Mike Machowsky -- in today’s sixth race at Santa Anita.

The 3-year-old son of Evansville Slew hasn’t raced since finishing third behind stakes winner Last Minute Detail in an optional claimer here.

Second to Hosco in the San Miguel, a Grade III, on Jan. 11, Roi Charmant will break from the outside in the field of seven set to go six furlongs in the $41,000 optional claimer. Corey Nakatani, who began the final two weeks of the meet atop the jockey standings, will be aboard.

From the inside out, the field also includes Cyber City Slew, who beat maidens at Bay Meadows last month, My Last Chance, King George W., Majestic Commander, whose only win in 11 starts came at Santa Anita earlier this year, Gray Jag and Siren Lure, who broke his maiden at first asking Oct. 2.

Race of the day: Dyna Da Wyna, who has won eight of 15, will try for another victory in the $75,000 Clark County at Keeneland. Pat Day will ride Dyna Da Wyna in the 5 1/2 -furlong turf race, which drew nine other fillies and mares. Another top contender is Whenthedoveflies, who won the Calder Turf Sprint in July. The Clark County is the eighth of nine races on the card.

One for the road: Potrisunrise, who dominated $25,000 claimers in his Belmont Park debut last month for owner Roddy Valente and trainer Bruce Levine, tries for a repeat in the seventh as he steps up to the $50,000 level at Belmont Park. Richard Migliore will ride Potrisunrise, whose main challengers are Here’s Zealous, Champion Ri, Nosupeforyou and Shake The Dice.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using Lori M’love and Miss Cyprus in the first, Travel Alarm in the second and Battledress, Alexander Charlote, Desert Tent, Belvedere Belle, Oreanda and An Annika Moment in the third.
