WHEN UCLA HAS THE BALL

Senior wideout Craig Bragg should be more involved in the offense, which has slowly added fellow wideouts Tab Perry, Joe Cowan and Junior Taylor and tight end Marcedes Lewis into the mix. Running back Maurice Drew is primed to have a big game after struggling the last three weeks.

WHEN STANFORD HAS THE BALL

Quarterback Trent Edwards relies on a group of big receivers led by tight end Alex Smith, who has 34 catches for 396 yards, and Evan Moore, who has 27 catches for 441 yards and five touchdowns. Kicker Michael Sgroi has made 10 consecutive field goals, the third-longest streak in school history.

KEYS TO UCLA VICTORY

1. Pressure Edwards. The best way to stop Stanford’s passing game is to rush the quarterback. If Edwards has time to throw, it will be a long day for the Bruin secondary.

2. Complete blocks. UCLA’s ground attack needs everyone to complete blocks up front to allow backs Drew, Manuel White and Chris Markey to take control.

3. Blue jerseys. In last week’s loss at Arizona State, Drew Olson threw four interceptions. If UCLA is to win, he needs to complete passes to blue-jersey players only today.
