Tracking Devices Had Glitches, Experts Testify
Tracking devices placed on Scott Peterson’s vehicles in the weeks after his pregnant wife vanished worked most of the time, but had some glitches, two prosecution experts testified Monday.
Peter Van Wyck Loomis, whose Silicon Valley company -- Trimble Navigation -- made the global positioning satellite technology in the devices that monitored Peterson’s movements, testified “there were some rare cases where it was off by 15 to 20 yards.”
Prosecutors contend that Peterson killed his pregnant wife and dumped her body into San Francisco Bay.
