No. 6 West Virginia Makes It Look Easy, 45-10

Rasheed Marshall threw two touchdown passes to Chris Henry to lead No. 6 West Virginia to a 45-10 victory over Division I-AA James Madison on Saturday at Morgantown, Va.

West Virginia’s defense scored one touchdown and set up another as the Mountaineers, who improved to 4-0, remained unbeaten heading into a showdown next week at former Big East rival Virginia Tech.

James Madison (2-1) has been outscored, 135-10, in its last three games against I-A teams and is 3-13 all-time against them.

The Dukes were a replacement on West Virginia’s schedule when Miami moved to the Atlantic Coast Conference along with Virginia Tech this season.

The Dukes limited the Mountaineers to 171 yards on the ground, 140 yards below their average.

Connecticut 40, Army 3 -- Dan Orlovsky threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Huskies (3-1) over the Black Knights (0-3) at East Hartford, Conn.

Two of the touchdown passes were caught by Keron Henry, a former quarterback who switched to receiver when Orlovsky took over.

The loss extended Army’s losing streak to 18, the longest active streak in the nation.

Pittsburgh 41, Furman 38 -- Josh Cummings kicked a 37-yard field goal in overtime and the Panthers (2-1) needed 21 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Division I-AA Paladins (3-1) at Pittsburgh.

Pitt quarterback Tyler Palko completed 30 of 36 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns. Raymond Kirkley rushed for 108 yards in 26 carries for the Panthers.

Toledo 45, Temple 17 -- Bruce Gradkowski passed for two scores and ran for another to lead the Rockets (2-2) over the Owls (1-3) at Toledo, Ohio.

Gradkowski completed 22 of 27 passes for 276 yards without an interception, completing scoring passes of 26 yards to Kenny Higgins and 18 yards to Steve Odom.
