Must We Slaughter Innocent Animals?

Share

Re “Hunt Is on for Island’s Troublesome Tenants,” April 9: It was very disturbing reading your article about how they plan to handle the pig overpopulation on the Channel Islands.

Humans always seem to think that the best way to deal with any type of animal problem is to just kill them.

I do not know why there cannot be another alternative than shooting these wild pigs?

Humans brought pigs over to this island many years ago, and now that they have overpopulated they want to murder them.

Where were all of the humans when the pigs started to multiply out of control?

Why at that time did they not sterilize them to stop this from happening?

This could have been prevented so easily. It is very sad that now all of these innocent animals will be slaughtered simply because mankind let it get out of hand.
