* Chase D’Arnaud and Adam Denton, Los Alamitos: Combined for four hits and four RBIs to spark the Griffins, ranked No. 17 by The Times, to a 7-4 Sunset League win at No. 2 Esperanza.
* Sergio Rojas, Bell Gardens: Went four for four and had a game-winning RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh in a 5-4 Almont League victory over Montebello.
* Justin Jacobs, Diamond Bar: Drove in three runs and had four hits in a 5-4 Sierra League victory over No. 7 Chino.
* Brian Robertson, Pomona Diamond Ranch: Improved to 4-0 on the mound and had four hits and four RBIs in a 12-11, eight-inning victory over Ontario Chaffey in Mt. Baldy League play.
* Thomas Milone, Saugus: Shut out No. 12 Newhall Hart for the second time this season in a 9-0 Foothill League win.
SOFTBALL
* Christie Nieto , Placentia El Dorado: Had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs to help the No. 6 Golden Hawks defeat No. 4 Lake Forest El Toro, 9-2, in the championship semifinals of the Anaheim Canyon/Michelle Carew Classic.
