Why is this man still a priest?

I agree with those Catholics who find it disgusting for the diocesan attorney to chide the mother for having “unprotected intercourse” with Arturo Uribe. However, aren’t we all missing the real point in this issue? Why was Uribe, now a Whittier priest, permitted to be ordained in the first place? The Redemptorist Order knew about this event when he was a seminarian.
Why doesn’t it defrock him and get the courts to force him to support his child and the mother? Hasn’t this always been his obligation? It certainly is not the responsibility of the Redemptorist Order, which probably receives most of its funds from the laity.
