From Times Wire Reports

The Chicago White Sox got home runs from Paul Konerko and Tadahito Iguchi in a 2-1 victory Tuesday night over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in a game that was delayed for four minutes in the eighth inning when a fan fell from the upper deck and onto the netting behind home plate.

The fan, Scott Harper of Armonk, N.Y., reportedly fell after being dared by friends, New York City police said.

Harper, 18, was with three friends, and police said that, according to witnesses, the group was talking about how much weight the net could hold.

After Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter hit a sacrifice bunt in the eighth, Harper plummeted past the press box and into the net. He sat up and looked dazed as fans milled below, snapping his picture with camera phones. He appeared to be uninjured and left a small hole in the net.

Play was stopped as Harper crawled off the net and into the stands, where police took him into custody. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx for an evaluation.

Police said that the charges pending against Harper were reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
