A 12-year-old Gardena girl who had been missing for nearly a week and was seen on a surveillance videotape entering a local motel has been found, authorities said Thursday evening.

Erica Seeney had gone missing from her home in the 15800 block of Western Avenue after she left for school Aug. 5 at 7:15 a.m.

Authorities used search dogs to track her path to a motel on the same street, and her parents confirmed that she was one of four people who were depicted on videotape entering a motel room about 8:15 a.m. on that same day.

She had not been seen after that until Gardena police announced Thursday night that she had been found.

No details on where she had been over the past several days were available late Thursday night.
