FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Taylor Twellman scored the winning goal in stoppage time and the New England Revolution rallied for a 2-1 win over D.C. United on Saturday night.
The Revolution (13-5-6) played without regular goalkeeper Matt Reis, who received a red card last week in a 2-0 loss to Colorado. Doug Warren got the win in Reis’ place.
United (11-8-5) took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute when Santino Quaranta scored. New England tied the game in the 47th minute on an own goal by United defender Bobby Boswell.
Twellman flicked a header into the net’s upper right corner when the Revolution had a man advantage.
