House Of Fortune will try to end an extended losing streak when she takes on six other California-bred fillies and mares in the $95,000 Cat’s Cradle Handicap today at Hollywood Park.

Trained by Ron McAnally for owner Arnold Zetcher, the 4-year-old daughter of Free House has lost 10 in a row since winning the Hollywood Breeders’ Cup Oaks on June 12, 2004.

The dark bay filly has perked up in her last two entering the 7 1/2 -furlong Cat’s Cradle. She was second to stablemate Swingtime on the Santa Anita turf course Oct. 7, then was the runner-up behind millionaire mare Dream Of Summer in the California Cup Matron on Nov. 6.
