From Times Wire Reports

Dallas Maverick center Erick Dampier has a stress fracture in his right foot and is expected to sit out two to three weeks, the team said Tuesday.

The Mavericks won without him at Phoenix in their last game before the All-Star break. If he’s out the full three weeks, he’d sit out 12 more games.

Alan Henderson, Calvin Booth and Shawn Bradley probably will replace him on a rotating basis.

Alonzo Mourning is expected to be on the Miami Heat roster by the end of the week, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

The paper also reported that Mourning passed his physical and that the team is working with him.

Mourning, 35, was expected to be at practice Monday, but concerns of conditioning have delayed his return. Not adding Mourning to the roster also gives the Heat more flexibility as Thursday’s trading deadline approaches.

Mourning’s contract with Miami probably will be for a prorated share of the $1.1-million veteran minimum salary.

Charlotte Bobcat owner Bob Johnson said he probably would offer a money-back guarantee to “non-premium” season-ticket holders if they are not satisfied with the expansion team next season when it moves into a new arena and ticket prices rise.

The Bobcats are confident the new building will create a buzz in Charlotte that will boost attendance.
