Teen Gets Life Sentence for Clinic Shooting
A 17-year-old who shot his girlfriend in a Palm Desert abortion clinic, paralyzing the girl, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for attempted murder.
Jeffrey Cameron Fitzhenry was angry that his 16-year-old girlfriend planned to get an abortion, argued with her inside the clinic in April, then pulled a gun and shot her in the neck.
Before a Riverside County Superior Court judge in Indio handed down the sentence, the victim, identified only as “Sara S.,” said she wanted Fitzhenry to “spend a full day in the same chair I’m in.”
