Villanova Coach Harry Perretta said the calm before his Wildcats’ 59-54 upset of No. 4-ranked Notre Dame on Sunday began with Jackie Adamshick.

“When she started making some shots, we started to relax as a team,” the coach said. “Other people began to make some shots then.”

What Adamshick, who had a game-high 25 points, started, Kate Dessart Mager finished, scoring all 14 of her points in the second half and giving the Wildcats a 51-49 lead with 1:39 left when she made a shot off an inbounds pass with one second left on the shot clock.
