Britney reworks ‘break’ remark

Despite Britney Spears’ message to fans in October that she would be taking a break from performing to “enjoy all of the simple things that I missed over the past few years due to working way too much,” the pop idol has a new video that she co-directed and for which she says she created most of the choreography.

The video for the song “Do Somethin’,” a new track from her recent “Greatest Hits: My Prerogative” album, was scheduled to premiere Friday in England, but it turned up earlier this week on the Internet.

“I think I should rephrase myself from my previous letters when I was talking about taking a ‘break,’ ” Spears says on her website. “What I meant was I am taking a break from being told what to do,” an allusion to her recent parting from her longtime management company, ReignDeer Entertainment.
