Two of a Kind Isn’t Going to Win This Hand

I have three ideas to help the Lakers in their quest to reach the seemingly unreachable plateau of three consecutive victories. Listing or reaching three at anything should be easy enough:

1. Total concentration in sizing up the opponent.

2. Tight, tenacious defense.

3.

Until Chris Mihm develops a three-point shot, he will continue to sit on the bench in fourth quarters. His height and athleticism, as well as rebounding and shot-blocking ability, do not compare to Brian Cook’s three-point shot.

Rudy Tomjanovich is the worst coach I have ever seen. It has become dreadful to sit through these games where the coach cannot see the obvious. I am sick of this three-point-shooting, no-defense basketball. The Times should finally recognize Rudy T.’s coaching downfalls and quit blaming everything on Kobe and the Shaq trade.

I’m sick and tired of reading how Lamar Odom has to step up when Lamar has nowhere to step up to. Even last year, in what was considered to be a breakout season, Lamar had his second-lowest averages in field-goal percentage, three-point percentage and assists.

Lamar’s game depends on teammates and style of play. There is no reason to think that his success in Miami will translate to equal or better success on the Lakers, who have a different coach, different game plan, different teammates and another player in Kobe Bryant who has the ball in his possession most of the time. With Lamar, what you see now is probably all you’re going to get.
