Smith Leads Minnesota to 78-60 Win
Katie Smith scored 27 points, including five three-point baskets, to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 78-60 victory over the Washington Mystics on Saturday night in Minneapolis.
Svetlana Abrosimova added 13 points and six rebounds for the Lynx (4-3). Alana Beard led Washington (3-6) with 19 points and five rebounds and DeLisha Milton-Jones had 10 points.
The Mystics led, 32-30, at halftime until a three-point basket by Smith sparked an 8-0 run. Beard helped cut the deficit to 40-39 with a basket, a layup and a three-point basket.
Washington’s Temeka Johnson added two free throws to give the Mystics their last lead.

Connecticut 78, San Antonio 69 -- Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 17 points and 7-foot-2 Margo Dydek added 10 against her former team at San Antonio and the Sun won its sixth in a row.
The Sun improved to an Eastern Conference-best 6-1; the Silver Stars dropped to a Western Conference-worst 2-7.
