“Pourquoi Tales: The Cat’s Purr,

Why Frog and Snake Never Play Together, the Fire Bringer”

The word pourquoi is French. It is pronounced poor-KWAH and means “why.” This book has three stories in it. My favorite is “The Cat’s Purr.” It’s about a cat and rat that are best friends. Rat likes to do what the cat does. But one day the cat gets a small drum from his uncle. The next day he plays the drum. Rat wants to play it but Cat wouldn’t let him. Read to find out if they stay friends.
