Man Held on Suspicion of Stabbing Wife, 79
A 78-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attacking his 79-year-old wheelchair-bound wife with a knife, police said.
Authorities said Robert Jay Frantz would be booked on charges of attempted homicide and mayhem in the multiple stabbing of the woman, whose name was not released. She was taken to Los Alamitos Medical Center with puncture wounds to the back of her head and face, officials said.
The wounds were not considered life threatening. The attack occurred about 9 a.m. in a residence on the 3500 block of Thor Avenue, authorities said.
