Man Shot by Officer Is Held on Gun Charge
A Santa Ana police officer shot a man after his investigation of a suspicious vehicle resulted in a confrontation with two men, police said.
The officer approached the vehicle in the 3500 block of Boyer Avenue about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, said police Sgt. Lorenzo Carillo. After a confrontation, the officer shot one man, Carillo said. The other man fled and was not found. Eduardo Zazueta, 19, of Santa Ana was treated and booked into jail Sunday on gun possession and parole violation.
Orange County prosecutors are investigating the shooting.
