Occidental completed a perfect regular season Saturday by using a familiar formula.

A whole lot of Andy Collins.

The senior quarterback completed 25 of 30 passes for 426 yards and threw six touchdown passes to lead Occidental to a 47-16 victory at Claremont-Mudd to clinch the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Assn. title outright.

The Tigers (9-0, 6-0), ranked No. 5 in the Division III American Football Coaches Assn. poll, won the conference for the second consecutive season.

Josh Jones was on the receiving end of five of Collins’ touchdown passes, hauling in scoring plays of 21, nine, 12, 39 and 65 yards. Ryan Gonzales caught a 25-yard scoring pass from Collins, who also was the team’s leading rusher with 77 yards in seven carries, including a 23-yard touchdown run.
