Holiday closures

Thursday is Thanksgiving. The following schedule will be in effect:

Schools: Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Mail: No delivery Thursday, and post offices will be closed. Post offices will open Friday, and delivery will resume.

Public transportation: OCTA buses will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule Thursday and return to their normal schedule Friday. Information: (714) 636- RIDE.

Metrolink Trains will be on a limited schedule for Inland Empire-Orange County lines Thursday. (800) 371-LINK.

Libraries: Most will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Banks: Most will be closed Thursday; most will be open Friday.

Trash collection: No pickup Thursday; collections will be one day late for the rest of the week.

Government: Placentia City Hall will close at 4:30 p.m. today. All city, county and federal offices and courts will be closed Thursday and Friday.
