Student Dropped Off at High School Is Shot
A student at San Gorgonio High School was shot in the leg as he was being dropped off at school by his mother Wednesday morning, authorities said.
School and city police reported that the gunman fled in a 1998 green Ford Windstar van that was believed occupied by a man and a juvenile male, said Maria Garcia, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino City Unified School District.
The injured student received stitches for his leg wound at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton and was released before noon Wednesday, a district spokeswoman said.
District officials said the shooting was not a school-related incident. Still, the school is taking additional safety measures.
