Worker Is Killed When Forklift Overturns
A Fountain Valley man died Wednesday after the forklift he was operating overturned at a granite storage facility in Santa Ana.
Ronnie Tassin, 43, was declared dead, apparently from head injuries, at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana after the 4:40 p.m. accident at the Stone Center in the 1900 block of East McFadden Avenue, officials said.
Authorities said he was briefly trapped under the forklift, which overturned for unknown reasons. Fellow workers were able to lift the machine long enough to free Tassin and render first aid in an unsuccessful attempt to save him, said the Santa Ana Fire Department.
