Two Small Quakes Occur Less Than 8 Hours Apart

Two small earthquakes rattled the city Saturday, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
A magnitude 3.1 temblor struck at 1:18 p.m. and was centered five miles west-northwest of Santa Monica, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was followed by a magnitude 3.0 quake that hit at 8:42 p.m. and was centered about two miles east of the city.
Authorities said they received no reports of injuries or damage.
