Council Urges State to Push 405 Carpool Lane
The City Council passed an emergency resolution by Wendy Greuel on Wednesday urging the state to pass legislation to help trigger construction of a carpool lane on the 405 Freeway between the 10 and 101 freeways.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa signed the resolution later in the day.
The state Legislature begins its fall recess Friday and city officials fear a delay would risk loss of $130 million in federal funds and jeopardize the project.
