Bulls Down 76ers, Move Past Them

Now it’s Philadelphia’s turn to chase Chicago.

Andres Nocioni finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds and Ben Gordon added 21 points to lead the Bulls past the 76ers, 99-92, on Wednesday night at Philadelphia, supplanting them in the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

“We’re the hunted and they’re going to be coming after us,” Bull Coach Scott Skiles said.

Sacramento 97, San Antonio 87 -- Mike Bibby had 31 points and eight assists at San Antonio to help the surprising Kings end the Spurs’ four-game winning streak.

The Kings shot 49% from the floor, made nine of 18 three-pointers and led by as many as 19 points.

New York 96, Cleveland 94 -- Jamal Crawford scored a season-high 37 points at New York, including the go-ahead jumper with 6.4 seconds left, to help the Knicks end a nine-game losing streak and stop the Cavaliers’ nine-game winning streak.

Indiana 111, Toronto 103 -- Peja Stojakovic and Stephen Jackson scored 25 points apiece at Indianapolis to help the Pacers end a five-game losing streak.

New Orleans 114, Golden State 109 -- Chris Paul got his second triple-double in three games with 17 points, a career-high 16 assists and 11 rebounds and set up Kirk Snyder’s go-ahead alley-oop dunk with 41.6 seconds left in overtime in a victory at Oklahoma City.

Atlanta 101, Minnesota 99 -- After the Timberwolves’ Ricky Davis had tied the score on a layup with two seconds left, Josh Childress streaked down the court and caught a long pass from Zaza Pachulia to score on an uncontested game-winning layup as time expired at Atlanta.

Washington 108, Boston 91 -- Gilbert Arenas scored 38 points and Caron Butler added 26 at Boston to help the Wizards move closer to qualifying for the playoffs for a second straight season for the first time since the 1987-88 season.

Orlando 108, Milwaukee 105 -- Hedo Turkoglu had 24 points, including two free throws after stealing the ball from Charlie Bell on the visiting Bucks’ last viable possession, to help the Magic overcome T.J. Ford’s 34 points, 11 assists and six rebounds.

Portland 76, Houston 75 -- The Trail Blazers ended an 11-game losing streak on Sebastian Telfair’s jumper with 27.7 seconds left a Portland, Ore. Zach Randolph had 17 points for Portland. Yao Ming struggled with 13 points for Houston.
