Hearing on College’s Accreditation Postponed
A hearing on Compton College’s appeal to maintain its accreditation has been postponed until at least May, and the school has been granted additional legal grounds on which it can base its fight to stay open.
The Western Assn. of Schools and Colleges appeals board had been set later this month to hear the college’s challenge of the association’s decision last year to strip the school of its accreditation over financial and management problems.
A college spokeswoman said the latest developments would enable the school to make a stronger case that it is in compliance with requirements.
