Driver Held in Death of Pedestrian
A driver struck and killed a woman walking along the San Bernardino Freeway in Colton early Saturday, then fled after part of the victim’s body smashed through his windshield, police said.
The driver was later arrested after dumping the partial remains in a commercial trash bin, authorities said.
Lawrence Chico, 20, of Rialto was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run, the California Highway Patrol said.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was walking along the center divider shortly after midnight when she was struck, authorities said.
