Teen Pistol-Whips, Shoots Man, Then Flees

A teenager shot a 67-year-old man and broke his eye socket Friday evening in the parking lot of a Mervyns department store in the 13000 block of Harbor Boulevard, police said.
The victim, whom police did not identify, told officers he was sitting in his car when a male teen approached him, hit him in the face with a gun, shot him in the leg and fled, police said.
The man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with wounds that are not life-threatening, police said.
