Yuniesky Betancourt singled with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning Monday night to give the Seattle Mariners a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.
The White Sox had an eight-game winning streak ended.
Chicago tied the score with two outs in the top of the ninth on Brian Anderson’s homer against Eddie Guardado.
Betancourt waved at a second strike before hitting the next pitch to the right of shortstop Juan Uribe and into left field.
Oakland 3, Texas 2 -- Nick Swisher and Eric Chavez hit consecutive home runs in the sixth inning, and Joe Blanton (2-2) pitched six solid innings to help lift the Athletics at Arlington, Texas.
Swisher homered for the third game in a row -- a two-run drive against reliever C.J. Wilson (1-1). It was Swisher’s ninth homer and gave Oakland a 2-1 lead. Chavez hit his eighth two pitches later.
