Woman Slain, Boy Hurt at Home
A woman was stabbed to death and a boy believed to be about 13 was critically wounded Monday night at a home in Montecito Heights.
A man was arrested at the scene, police said. He is believed to be the boy’s father, but it is unclear whether he and the woman were married, said Mike Lopez, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman. The boy’s injuries, also from a stabbing, were considered life-threatening, Lopez said.
The attack took place in the 500 block of East Avenue 28, about half a mile from the scene of a Saturday night shooting that left an LAPD officer, James Tuck, seriously wounded.
Police were alerted at 9:50 p.m. about a disturbance at the home, and further calls came in as the argument escalated.
The names of the suspect and the victims were not released.
