Mailer novel: A new novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Norman Mailer -- his first in 10 years -- will be released in January, his publisher said Friday. Random House offered no details except the title: “The Castle in the Forest.”

Dancin’ on: The popular weekly dance club Giant, which had made the Avalon Hollywood its home on Saturday nights for the last four years, is moving to the Vanguard, at 6021 Hollywood Blvd., beginning Sept. 9.
